Rental Policies

We understand it is difficult to plan an event during these uncertain times. For this reason, we are offering a flexible cancellation policy no matter which vendor Butiq you order from.

Upto 10 days of event day - 0% Cancellation Fee

Within 5-10 days of event day – 50% cancellation fee

Within 4 days of event day– 100% cancellation fee

If Total Order >$10,000, there will be no refund on deposits

For individual item cancellations from within an order, look at our Order Modification Policy

 

You can modify your order any number of times before your event by contacting EventButiq’s customer service. We are working on a feature that will enable you to edit your order online without having to contact us each time.

Modifications made upto 10 days of Event day

  •          Quantity Increase or Item Addition – depending on availability - No fee
  •             Quantity Decrease - No fee
  • Entire item Cancellation - No fee if item < $100 and 15% if item > $100

Modifications made within (5-10) days of Event day

  •   Quantity Increase or Item Addition – depending on availability - No fee
  •   Quantity Decrease - 25% restocking fee
  • Entire item Cancellation - 25% restocking fee

Modifications made within (4) days of Event day

  •   Quantity Increase or Item Addition – depending on availability - 20% rush fee
  •   Quantity Decrease - 50% restocking fee
  • Entire item Cancellation - 50% restocking fee
 

Cancellation by customer

Your refund is determined by EventButiq’s Cancellation Policy, depending on how close you are to the event at the time of your cancellation. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

Cancellation by Butiq

If your Butiq needs to cancel your rental booking for any reason, every attempt will be made by EventButiq to find you another Butiq that can fulfill the order at the same price and at the requested day/time. Any difference in the price is on us. We take cancellations very seriously and strive to work only with reliable Butiqs so that our customers can rent with confidence.Having said that, the weather forecast is unpredictable, so some Butiqs may have to cancel certain orders due to rain or high winds on the day of the event for your own safety and insurance reasons. In such cases, we will contact you and figure out an amicable solution. 

No Refunds on unused equipment

 

There are no refunds on unused equipment. Equipment cancelled or refused on delivery will be charged the full rental rate as its absence from the Butiq’s warehouse prevents anyone else from renting it. This applies equally to reserved items for Will Call pickups

Refunds on Damaged items

We highly recommend you to inspect the items at the time of delivery or pickup. If you notice that something is missing, damaged, or otherwise not what you expected, contact your Butiq immediately. Giving your Butiq the chance to fix an issue is the fastest way to make sure you get what you need. Items are rented in a "as is" condition so if something bothers you apart from a normal rental wear and tear , make sure you or the person receiving the order takes pictures of the item in question and give the Butiq a chance to address your concern.

Alternatively, contact EventButiq’s customer support and we will work with the Butiq to address the situation.  
 

You will be charged 50% of your total amount when you place an order on EventButiq. We process all our payments through Paypal.com, an industry leading, PCI compliant payment gateway. As part of out promise to make renting as fast, simple and transparent as possible, when you checkout, we only preauthorize your card for 50% of the payment. This amount is charged only if your order request is accepted by the Vendor Butiq. You are welcome to make as many changes as you want on your order between your order date and date of the event. The final balance amount will be sent to your email as an invoice 4 days before the order delivery, installation or will call for you to authorize and pay.

 

Delivery and Pickup

EventButiq facilitates delivery services through the Butiqs that you order from.Delivery and Pickup is available all 7 days of the week anytime between 6a.m - midnight. Rates depend on the mileage and the time window requested. 


Standard Delivery-Pickup hours -


Mon-Fri - 8a.m - 5p.m

Sat - 8a.m - 12p.m

Sun - Closed

 

Delivery and Pickup outside of these hours is considered “Afterhours” and additional fee apply.

Some Butiqs are however open on Sundays and delivery/willcall for these Butiqs do not fall under “Afterhours” fee. You can use search filters to search for Butiqs open on Sundays.

  

Will Call -

If you are picking up and returning items from a Butiq’s physical location yourself , it is called Will Call. You will be required to specify if you wish to do a Will Call at the time of checkout. The Will Call hours for that Butiq will be mentioned during the checkout and also in the order confirmation email. Some Butiqs do not support Will Call. You can filter Butiqs to suit your preferences while browsing.

You can always contact EventButiq’s customer support to change your preference after you have placed an order.

 

The rental rate on all items is based on a “per day” rental. This means your item is available to you starting the day before your ‘event date’ until the day after your ‘event date’. 

For example, if your event is on a Friday, your rental period starts from Thursday and ends on Saturday. Should you need the items longer, please change your “Rental Start Date” or “Rental End Date” in the Cart before checkout. Additional days will incur additional costs, typically 50% of the rental item cost for each additional day of rental. 

Exception - If your event is on a Saturday however, your rental period starts on Friday and ends on Monday for no additional fee as most of our Butiqs are closed on Sundays. 

Some items are rented on an hourly basis for instance “/6 hours” “/8 hours” and these will be specified on the item. If you are looking for weekly or monthly rentals, please contact EventButiq’s customer support with the product id.

EventButiq is a marketplace that connects event rental vendors aka 'Butiqs'  with customers planning events. The customers can be 'Event Professionals' or 'DIY renters' who can view and compare rental items from hundreds of local event vendor Butiqs. Customers can either pickup or have the items delivered to their venues with a quick, secure and efficient checkout process.

 

Our vision is to make the event rental process easier. Period.

 If you were to rent through the traditional event rental model, this would be your course of action -  

-Search for rental companies near your venue

-Browse through items online or visit their physical warehouse to see their inventory

-Clarify your questions on quantities and item specifics

-Answer questions on delivery date, time slot, address of the venue, questions on stairs, elevator etc..

-Read your creditcard number over phone. Worry about the security for the next couple of days :(

-and everytime you want to make a change to the order, Repeat the whole process the again!


To complicate it, 'every' rental company has a different Cancellation policy, Damage policy, Delivery policy, Deposit, Payments and Refunds policy.

EventButiq showcases rental items from a variety of companies ranging from huge warehouses with multiple items to Specialty companies that carry a niche set of products like Vintage items only or Kids Rentals only. We have filters available on our Listing page that will help you search and filter for only Specialty companies(a.k.a. Butiqs)
 
You can browse through our content free of cost . We do not charge anything to create an account. We only charge a service fee when you successfully process a rental through our marketplace. This fee helps us in providing free event consultation to you and keeping the content from our vendors upto date. 
 

The best answer is as far in advance as possible. Our rental companies (a.k.a.Butiqs) work on a first-come, first-served basis. Even though a lot of the common inventory items are available in large quantities, they do end up fully booked from time to time. The specialty items are usually available in fewer quantities and may even be one of a kind , so reserving them way in advance is a good idea. Incase a Butiq does not have the item you requested for your event date, they will suggest replacement items that are very similar in design and price that you can choose to accept.

 
EventButiq uses Paypal.com, an industry leading, PCI compliant payment gateway, to process all of our payments. As part of our promise to make renting as fast ,simple and transparent as possible, when you checkout , we only pre authorize your card for 50% of the payment. This amount is charged only if your order request is accepted by the Vendor Butiq. You are welcome to make as many changes as you want on your order between your order date and the date of the event. The balance amount will be sent to your email as an invoice 4 days before the order delivery, installation or will call for you to authorize and pay.
 
Sometimes you have a very particular item you're looking for and other times we just don’t have the right rental company on our site to supply what you need. You are more than welcome to reach out to us at support@eventbutiq.com to see if we can help you find something. 
 
While EventButiq does not own a fleet of vehicles for delivery and pickup, we fulfill all delivery and setup through our vendor Butiqs. We help you specify your delivery and setup preferences so that the rental company you’re renting from will be able to provide you the best possible delivery and setup service. Please see the Delivery And Willcall Pickups section under Rental Policies to learn more.
 

Event rentals can be tricky and intricate at times, but here are a few high-level tips to get you squared away:

Reserve your items as early as possible. Never wait to the last minute if it can be avoided. Some items may be reserved as much as a year or two out!

Delivery and setup services do cost extra. Sometimes setup services are included in the item price, other times they are not. Delivery will always have a fee associated with it, so be sure to factor that in when setting your budget.

Every day of extended rentals will cost you extra

Lost or Damaged items on return will carry a penalty and will be charged on your security deposit

 

Rentals

Yes absolutely! This is a great feature on our platform where you can add rental products from multiple rental Butiqs into your cart and checkout at the same time in one go!

 

Yes. You may make additions, modifications and cancellations any number of times after placing your order by contacting EventButiq's customer support team. We are also working on a feature that will enable you to modify your orders anytime online without contacting us. For fees and penalties on order modifications, please read under 'Order Modification Policy' under Rental Policies . 

 

You may cancel a rental order by contacting EventButiq customer support through email or livechat. We are working on a feature that will enable you to cancel an order online without having to contact us. 

Please note: Cancelling rentals may result in a Cancellation fee depending on how close you are to the event. For cancellation fees, read under "Order Cancellation Policy" under FAQ.

 

??Rental Period is the amount of time you can be in possession of a rental item.

If an item is not available on the requested date, the rental Butiq will provide you with replacement options that are similar aesthetically and comparable in price to the item you requested. If you do not wish to replace the item, you can either remove the item from the order or cancel the order all together. However, we do require your approval before your order becomes final. So no changes will be made without you knowing it. 

 

You (the customer) are responsible for returning rental items in the same condition in which they were received, except for ordinary wear and tear. You are liable for the replacement cost of damaged or lost items. The Damage Protection Plan is available as an option for you to choose during checkout to protect you from damage due to accidental breakage. No loss of any type will be covered.

The Damage Protection Plan is available for a fee of 10 percent of your total rental order. The Damage Protection Plan is optional and you may choose to opt out by emailing us at support@eventbutiq.com along with your order number after checkout. If the Damage Protection Plan is declined, the customer is responsible for all charges relating to loss or damage to rental items under any circumstance. The Damage Protection Plan is not a refundable item.

If Damage Protection Plan is accepted:

  • Orders totaling up to $500.00 will be eligible for coverage of up to twenty-five percent of the total rental cost. Any damage over twenty-five percent of the total order will be charged at fifty percent of replacement costs.

  • Orders totaling more than $500.00 are eligible for coverage of the first $100.00 of replacement value of the item in question. Any damage over $100.00 will be charged at fifty percent of replacement costs.

What the Damage Protection Plan includes:


  • Waives you of liability for rented items that are returned damaged due to an accident. You must return all broken or damaged items and other such evidence that the Butiq may reasonably require.

  • Must be accepted prior to your will-call pickup or scheduled delivery.

What the Damage Protection Plan does NOT include:

  • Coverage for damage due to neglect, abuse, or misuse. If deemed necessary by the rental company, you agree to furnish a police report upon their request.

  • Coverage for loss.

Specific circumstances NOT covered by the Damage Protection Plan:


  • Any type of loss of rented items or accessory equipment

  • Overloading or exceeding the rated capacity of equipment

  • Use of electrical current provided by other than an electric utility

  • Operation/use of equipment in a manner different from its intended purpose, or damage resulting from neglect and/or abuse

  • Tampering with items or equipment that we have installed such as tents, dance floors, or staging

  • Tampering with gas or electric appliances

  • Any loss of linen, linen bags, or other fabrics

  • Any damage rendering the linen un-rentable such as (but not limited to): burns, tears, permanent stains, etc…

 

Payments

Absolutely. We use a fully PCI-compliant and encrypted payment processing service, Paypal.com. Credit card numbers & security codes (CVC) are not sent to or stored on our servers.

 

Your card is not charged until the rental Butiq reviews and approves your request. If a part of your order is not available for your requested date, the rental Butiq will present replacement options to you. Once you approve this, your card will be  charged for 50% of the total order amount. 

You are welcome to make as many changes to your order between the order date and the event date. The final balance amount will be sent to your email as an invoice 4 days before the order delivery, installation of willcall for you to authorize and pay. 

If the order date is within 4 days of your event date , then we will charge your card for 100% of the order total when you place the order initially.

 

You may cancel a rental order by going to "Orders" under 'My Account' and clicking on 'Cancel Order link available on your order. If you do not see the link it means you are past the online cancellation time frame and will need to contact EventButiq's customer support through email or livechat.
